VW Phaeton: Coming back to the US, repositioned!

The next-generation VW Phaeton will definitely return to the US!

This was unveiled by nobody else than Dr. Winterkorn in an interview with Financial Times Germany during the annual press conference. He stated that being successful with a product means to sell it everywhere, including the USA.

He also said that VW is looking for a complete re-positioning of their models, including the VW Phaeton, to revive the models. Most probably that means that the VW Phaeton will be positioned cheaper. Interesting news, stay tuned, we will keep you informed.

Spied: Volkswagen Golf (Rabbit) R36

Don’t get fooled by the R32 badge on the back — spy photographers have snapped a new round of images images showing the upcoming Volkswagen Golf/Rabbit R36. For those who believe the 250 hp engine in the R32 isn’t enough, Volkswagen is developing this 300 hp version.

The engine, known from the recently official Passat R36 gets the air to breath through bigger air intakes.The prototype also has also a slightly different front grille, which could change even more by production.

Compared to the R32, the air intakes in this R36 prototype look huge. As with the R32, this R36 gets the power to the ground with all-wheel-drive and a DSG gearbox.

Volkswagen Touareg V10 TDI Races To The Clouds

The Volkswagen Touareg is a creation straight from the Volkswagen AG. It has been in production since the year 2004 and at present, more and more units of this vehicle is still continuously crafted. It is an entrant to the midsize sport utility vehicle segment and it comes as an SUV that holds four doors. Anyhow, if you are interested in going to the off road and taking the Volkswagen Touareg V10 TDI with you, then you are most certainly going to love this piece of news: the vehicle is going to be on sale in the US starting this September. And yes, it will be coming with a diesel particulate filter which is something new in the US auto market. In fact, in the US, the Volkswagen Touareg V10 TDI would be the very first vehicle made for the off road that comes with a turbo-diesel engine and a particulate filter.

It would perhaps be sold in the US for about $53,300. And if you have this much money, you would be taking home a Volkswagen Touareg TDI that has an engine that could produce 128 kW at 174 bhp. Or if you are pining for the European version of this vehicle which has been created with a power of 230kW and 313 bhp, you should better be ready to shell out some $96,000.
